Obviously Obvious
So....now that I actually have a few spare moments to myself after an entire grueling semester at school, I can get back on this whole "social media-savvy-chic-webtech-weirdo" thing and attempt to write again. After being here an entire 3 months, I can't believe I have failed to mention Germán Valdivia, The exclusive atelier that provides cutting edge, made-to-measure and ready-to-wear designs for some of the world's most fabulous clientele. What I personally love about Germán Valdivia is the exclusivity surrounding the brand, which is exactly what draws Manhattan Socialites and Celebrities alike to his designs. Every single piece produced oozes sophistication, confidence, wealth, and glamour; LOVE.

Sweatin on Sandy Kim
After reading an article on Dazed Digital this past week, I cannot get enough of Sandy Kim. I first heard her name mentioned a few months ago in Vice Magazine because of her photography for the band GIRLS. Now, Kim is tearing it up EVERYWHERE- documenting her gypsy-esq life in an incredibly intimate, and semi filthy way; (when filth is synonymous for obscure beauty I suppose.) Kim definitely has one of the most gritty, humorous, and eye catching portfolios I've seen in a while, take a look at some of her shots here:

DVF Appreciation
The other day I sat down with the Senior VP of Diane Von Furstenberg to ask her a few things about the S/S 2011 collection- aaahhh-maaazinggggg! Being as she had literally just gotten back from Milan about 4 hours prior, she had some great input on the direction DVF was taking for the upcoming seasons. I LOVE that they were able to pull away from being a entirely print-based collection and add a few simple pieces into the mix. Mind you, DVF is definitely channeling her inner Greek Goddess Diva circa 1970, but it is a lot easier to catch pieces that are more subdued in S/S 2011 than in years prior. Overall: Success!
My favorite look from the collection?
Lemme get ya fanny pack gUrl!!

My time as Queen of the Beach has come to an end- Goodbye Summer :-(
With Labor Day quickly approaching, it's safe to say I definitely have to retire my go-to summer album, King of the Beach. It seriously sucks that every time any track from this newest, (and actually official!) album by Wavves pops up on my ipod I get extreme nostalgia- if that's even possible considering the past I'm yearning for was the present just a few short weeks ago. Au revoir summer; you will be missed!

Fashion Fail
For the past few seasons, one-shouldered dresses have been a staple fitting for every girl's wardrobe. Celebs like Kim Kardashian have literally created a one shoulder MOVEMENT. But let's take a look at what seems to be the one-shouldered frock 2.0: The One-Sleeve. Yes, I have just turned the One-Sleeve into a noun. and Yes, it has been written that way on purpose-
meant to be read as an ominous, terrible, and stupid looking wardrobe choice.
Perhaps my narrow-minded view of the One-Sleeve comes from the fact that it made it's Red Carpet debut on none other than the one person probably even more stupid looking than the garment itself: Kristen Stewart.
Personally, I believe that the one-shoulder emphasizes a woman's clavicle in the most beautiful and flattering way possible; giving a certain feminine touch that can tend to be overlooked in the days of watermelon cleavage worthy of Heidi Montag. However, the One-Sleeve somehow masks my eyes from any attractiveness of the dress and the person wearing it, by drawing my eyes to the fact that it looks as if someone just got lazy making the dress and decided to say "screw it" 3/4ths of the way finished.
Word of advice- to avoid looking as stupid as Kristen Stewart (if that is even humanly possible) make sure both of your sleeves are attached before leaving the house. Holl@!

(....still stupid)
Kristen Stewart- I wish you would get eaten by a stupid vampire in real life and die. That is all

Shoegasm AT LAST
For the past 2 months I have been on the unnerving and never ending hunt for the absolutely perfect summer wedges. after about 48 fails and countless trips (along with about 845738$ in gas money) back and fourth to Bloomingdale's and beyond, my search has ended. THANK. GOD. The shoe that brought me to the end of this journey? Pour La Victoire Tula Wedges. Check it!
Tula Wedges in COGNAC, $312
What makes this brand so fantastic is their use of unique materials and eye-gravitating silhouettes, all hand crafted in Brazil with a real European feel to them. All shoes under the label run anywhere from $200-$400, and I swear every single collection has a gravitational pull on my wallet (how convenient.) So far I've spotted multiple designs from PLV on Gossip Girl and The Hills and now I am among the fellow followers. I suppose if I'm going to be broke I might as well have a kick-ass pair of shoes on my feet, right?

Click-clackin in Clogs
I refuse. to accept. CLOGS. I know, they are the absolute must-have. I know, they are shown on every single runway across the globe. I know, if you havent invested in at least 3 pairs by now you are most definitely committing a fashion faux pas. whatever! I hate them. that is all.

BONDAGE IS BACK
My go-to piece every single weekend of this season has been some type of bondage skirt which i've been spotting everywhere from LF to forever 21. However, I have found my new place of worship. Since discovering Pleasure Doing Business, I will be bandaged and bonded forever into many of their skirts, tops, and dresses. I'm especially excited to continue the lack of black trend, which is made too easy by PTB. YESSS!
